For Guests who enjoy walking, why not book a day out with your hosts Fred & Demi. Experience one of the most beautiful walking trails through a lush forest boasting many indigenous trees and plants. Halfway along the 3.2km round trail you will stop for refreshments and pastries, this site is situated beneath a waterfall, The Forest Fall. Following on from here you will meander through more leafy vegetation back to the starting point. Guests will then move on to the MacMac Pools for a refreshing swim and a picnic lunch.
Demi is well renown for her cooking skills and the menu is both exciting and exotic. Demi's passion for
cooking is obvious and the care and attention to detail shows in the presentation and the "the proof
of the pudding is in the eating "
The Service and Hospitality is Top Class and I doubt that you would find friendlier Hosts anywhere
"that side of the Equator"
Luxury in the Bush.
Enjoy a day out on the walking trail with Fred and Demi and relax at the Mac Mac Falls.

Your Hosts, Fred and Demi
are waiting to welcome you.

The Hendriksdal Experience
"Where the air smells like air and the water tastes like water"
This phrase, coined by the owners of the establishment, epitomises the freshness of the area. Situated in the mountains above Sabie and surrounded by lush green forests.

The Guest House
The Station Buildings - comprising the Station Masters Office, the Ticket Office and two Waiting Rooms - have been transformed into en-suite accommodation.
Under careful supervision the decor and fittings have been set in the milieu of the 1920's - all designed to create an atmosphere of cosy comfort and total relaxation.
And - no apology is made if the occasional timber train wakes you from your well earned slumbers - it's all part of the atmosphere.
The Restaurant
The old house has been converted into a casual, family run Italian trattoria, offering, the main, rural Tuscany style fare. The menu is usually changed every few months and includes a delectable choice from a large repertoire of rural Italian recipes.
You will be settled into an atmosphere that is both special, relaxing and different. Enjoy the unique works of art and tribal craft while sipping your wine, chosen from the varied selection of South African labels on the wine list.
The Scenery
Conveniently situated on the Mpumalanga Panorama Route, places of interest such as Pilgrim's Rest, Graskop, God's Window, Bourke's Luck Potholes, Blyde River Canyon, Three Rondavels, Sudwala Caves as well as numerous waterfalls are all within range of a comfortable day drive.
For less active visitors, a relaxing stroll through the restaurant's vegetable and herb garden will assure you of the just-picked freshness of the fare on offer.
